Discover the Palace of Versailles
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for thirty years, the Palace of Versailles represents one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring examples of 17th century French art and culture. Before the French Revolution ended royal privilege, various kings of France developed the palace buildings and gardens during their reigns. Becoming a museum in the 19th century, the Palace itself is part of the Domaine de Versailles, an estate that also includes the Park, the Trianons and the gardens. From the Hall of Mirrors, you can enjoy an exceptional view of the elegant French-style gardens so superbly designed by the great landscape architect André Le Nôtre. Take a delightful stroll to explore the Park and its Grand Canal.
Fountains Shows and Musical Gardens
The Fountains Shows and the Musical Gardens are essential events that take place in the Domaine de Versailles until November. In the gardens, the water of the pools and fountains dances to the sound of baroque music. And to experience even more magic, don’t miss the Night Fountains Shows, in which the groves and pools are adorned with a gorgeous array of coloured lights after dark. Every Saturday evening, you can enjoy surprising installations and displays as well as wondrous aquatic ballets to the sound of music before experiencing the excitement of a colossal fireworks display.
