In addition to the exclusive summer deals on offer, a summer stay at the Hotel Paris France will provide you with the opportunity to discover the wide range of activities organised in the capital to celebrate the season.
Paris Plages
Paris-Plages is the annual event in which locations in central Paris are transformed into temporary beaches and an extensive programme of activities and entertainment is provided. The 15th edition will run from July 20th to August 21st, 2016, and has not been disrupted at all by the Seine flood of early June. The banks of the historic waterway will be transformed into sandy beaches from the Bassin de l’Arsenal to the Pont de l'Alma. As every year, three prestigious Parisian locations will participate; the Voie Pompidou, the square in front of the Hôtel de Ville and the Bassin de la Villette. The 14th and 20th arrondissements also join in the fun, with temporary beach resorts being installed in the Louis Lumière and Elisabeth sports centres.
The arrival of the Tour de France
July is the month of the Tour de France. The route and the dates of this 103rd edition have been officially known since October. Picturesque Mont Saint-Michel on the north-west coast was chosen to be this year’s starting point for a gruelling 3,519 km race, kicking off stage 1 on July 2nd. Over the following three weeks there will be a total of 21 stages in all, consisting of 9 flat stages, 1 hilly stage, 9 mountain stages including 4 summit finishes, and 2 individual time trial stages. Three neighbouring countries will be visited along the way; Andorra, Spain and Switzerland, and the competitors will have to tackle the awesome challenges provided by the Pyrenees and the Alps, as well as Mont Ventoux and the Massif Central. You can be there for the grand climax of the race on July 24th, when the riders complete the final 113 km from Chantilly to the finish on the Champs-Elysées.
